Welcome to AppLock & Vault ("App", "we", "us", "our"). We are dedicated to protecting your privacy and personal data. This Privacy Policy details how AppLock & Vault handles your information when you use our app locking, call blocking, backup, file vault, and utility services.
By using AppLock & Vault, you consent to the data practices described in this document.
On-Device Security Guarantee: All your sensitive data—including lock credentials, contacts backup files, hidden vault files, and call blocking rules—remains strictly on your device. We do not upload your personal files, contacts, or communications to our servers.
02 Information We Collect & Process
2.1 Stored Exclusively on Your Device
- Lock Credentials: Encrypted PIN codes, lock patterns, and recovery security questions.
- Contacts Backup Data: Contact lists exported or restored solely during user-initiated backup actions. Stored in standard VCF or local backup files on your device storage.
- File Vault (Hidden Files): Photos, videos, audios, and documents protected inside the private vault.
- Call Blocking Rules: Phone numbers and blacklist rules configured by you for spam and unwanted call rejection.
- Intruder Selfies: Photos taken locally when an unauthorized person attempts to unlock protected apps with an incorrect password.
2.2 On-Device Data Processing
- Usage Statistics (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS): Evaluated locally in real-time to detect when a locked app opens so the lock screen appears immediately.
- Installed Packages (QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES): Queried locally to list apps for locking and APK backup extraction.
- Call Screening & Phone State: Incoming phone numbers are matched against your local blacklist in real-time to filter unwanted calls via Android Call Screening and Phone State APIs. No call audio or call history is recorded or uploaded.
- Junk Cleaning: Scans device storage locally to identify temporary files, cache, and obsolete APKs to free up space.
2.3 Automatically Collected by Third-Party SDKs
- Advertising Identifiers (AD_ID): Used by ad networks to deliver relevant advertisements and measure ad performance.
- Device Telemetry & Network Info: Basic device model and OS version used for configuration delivery and crash prevention.
- Push Notification Token: Firebase Cloud Messaging token used exclusively to deliver important security and app updates.

04 Advertising Partners
AppLock & Vault is supported by advertisements provided by trusted advertising networks:
You can manage your advertising preferences or reset your advertising identifier in your Android device settings under Settings → Google → Ads.
05 Data Security & Retention
We implement strict data protection measures:
- All sensitive data (passwords, contacts backups, hidden vault files) is stored locally on your device in secure storage.
- Network communications (e.g. remote configuration) use HTTPS encryption.
- Uninstalling the App or clearing app data removes all App-generated configuration and stored credentials. Backup files in your chosen external folders remain under your personal control.
06 Children's Privacy
AppLock & Vault is not designed for or targeted to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
07 User Control & Rights
You have full control over your privacy:
- Grant or revoke permissions (Contacts, Storage, Camera, Phone) at any time through Android System Settings.
- Export, delete, or relocate your local backup files as you choose.
- Opt out of interest-based ads via Android Google Ads settings.
