      Core Privacy Principle: App Lock is engineered to operate on-device. Your lock credentials (PIN, pattern), hidden files in the Vault, and app lists are stored and processed strictly on your device and are never transmitted to our servers.
    

02 Information We Collect & Process

2.1 Stored Locally on Device

Lock Credentials: Encrypted PIN codes, lock patterns, and recovery security questions.
Locked Apps Configuration: The list of applications you choose to protect with App Lock.
File Vault (Hidden Files): Photos, videos, audio, and documents you choose to hide within the private vault.
Intruder Photos: Selfies captured when an unauthorized user enters an incorrect PIN or pattern (optional feature, user-enabled only).
Preferences: Themes, wallpaper choices, vibration feedback, and display options.

2.2 On-Device Data Processing

Usage Statistics (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS): Processed strictly on your device in real-time to detect when a locked app is opened so the lock overlay can appear immediately.
Installed Packages (QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES): Queried locally to present you with a list of apps available to lock or clean.
Junk Cleaning: Scans device storage for temporary cache, obsolete APKs, empty folders, and large residual files to help free up storage space. All scanning is performed locally on-device.

2.3 Information Collected Automatically via Third-Party SDKs

Advertising Identifiers (AD_ID): Used by our advertising partners to serve relevant contextual and programmatic advertisements.
Network & Device Information: Basic device model, OS version, and network status for remote configuration, performance optimization, and ad delivery.
Push Notification Token: Firebase Cloud Messaging token used exclusively to deliver important security notifications and app updates.

03 Permissions Explained

App Lock requests only the permissions necessary to provide its security and utility features:

QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES	Display your installed apps so you can choose which ones to lock or manage.
SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW	Display the secure lock screen overlay on top of locked applications.
Accessibility Service	Detect foreground app transitions reliably across various Android versions and custom OEM ROMs.
CAMERA	Capture photos of intruders who fail unlock attempts (optional, enabled by user).
MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / STORAGE	Enable the File Vault (hiding and restoring photos, videos, files) and Junk Cleaner (scanning cache and obsolete files).
USE_BIOMETRIC / USE_FINGERPRINT	Allow fast and secure unlocking using your device's fingerprint or biometric sensor.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS	Display the required foreground service notification to ensure continuous app locking protection.
FOREGROUND_SERVICE	Keep the locking engine actively protecting your apps in the background.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED	Automatically restart protection when your device is rebooted.
REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS	Prevent the Android OS from terminating background security services.
INTERNET / ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE	Fetch remote configuration, app updates, and display advertisements.
AD_ID	Required for advertising partners to serve and measure advertisements.
VIBRATE	Provide haptic feedback during password and pattern entry.

04 Advertising & Third Parties

App Lock is free to use and supported by advertisements. We partner with reputable advertising networks:

Google AdMob – Google Privacy Policy
Adivery – Adivery Privacy Policy
Tapsell – Tapsell Privacy Policy

These advertising partners may use device identifiers (Google Advertising ID) and network telemetry to deliver and measure advertisements. You can reset or opt out of personalized ads at any time via your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads).

05 Data Security & Retention

We implement robust security measures to protect your information:

All sensitive credentials (passwords, PINs, patterns) are securely hashed and stored in encrypted local app storage.
Vault files are stored in dedicated private folders on your device and are never uploaded to any remote server.
Network communications (e.g., remote configuration) use secure HTTPS encryption.
Uninstalling the application or clearing app data completely removes all locally stored credentials and settings.

06 Children's Privacy

App Lock is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

07 Your Rights & Choices

You have full control over your data and app permissions:

You can revoke optional permissions (Camera, Storage, Accessibility) at any time through your Android system settings.
You can clear all stored data, password configurations, and cached files by clearing the app data or uninstalling the app.
You can manage or disable personalized advertising in Android Settings.
